Finding trailheads, trail navigation, and finding good public lands camping near the trails can be challenging. We’ve found that the phone-based Trailforks app has some super useful tools. You can always find your position (via phone GPS) overlaid on the trail system and choose from a number of useful backgrounds including satellite, topo, or roads. You can also use the app to navigate to trailheads via google maps. And, the best application for MtbNomads is a combo of land status (federal, state, private, etc) and satellite to locate camp spots near the trails.
